The Biothane Difference - Our Unique Selling Point
Biothane is incredibly strong, looks fantastic and offers great benefits, such as :
- The look and feel of leather (Beta Coating).
- Maintenance Free, unlike leather.
- Easily cleans up in warm soapy water.
- Odour Resistant.
- Waterproof, so will not rot.
- Easily cut to length and will not fray
- Available in a great selection of colours and sizes.
- Tough and durable
- Biothane is very strong in terms of pulling weight and will last longer than nylon or uncoated webbing leads but if a dog is left alone with it and chews it, they can chew through it like any lead so we do not recommend leaving it in a position where the dog can chew it
Delta Canine will only use Solid Brass or Stainless Steel hardware and we offer a 12 month warranty should the hardware fail (under normal use conditions). See further details here

BIOTHANE® COMPARISONS TO OTHER PRODUCTS:
Why is BioThane® better than Leather?
Leather is an uncoated surface which absorbs dirt and bacteria and requires regular and daily maintenance.
BioThane® is more comfortable to the hand than leather and provides the peace of mind that your product will outperform and outlast products using leather straps. Beta class products with the look and feel of leather are a perfect match.
How does BioThane® compare to Nylon webbing?
Nylon’s uncoated surface makes it more vulnerable to weather and abrasion in that it absorbs water and can also hold bacteria leading to the possibility of odours and mildew. It is also inferior to BioThane® in appearance. BioThane® provides the peace of mind that your product will outperform and outlast products using nylon straps.
How does BioThane® compare to Polyester webbing?
Polyester’s uncoated surface makes it more vulnerable to weather and abrasion. It is also inferior to BioThane® in appearance. BioThane® provides the peace of mind that your product will outperform and outlast products using polyester straps.
Is Vinyl better than BioThane®?
Vinyl does not have webbing inside to give it added strength, so it experiences wear and tear more easily and can have weak spots. Using BioThane® will outperform and outlast products using vinyl straps.
Does BioThane have ISO 9001:2015 Registration?
Yes, BioThane® is ISO 9001:2015 registered for the design and manufacturing of narrow coated webbing. Please click here to view our certificate.
Does synthetic hurt the animals?
Not any more than leather! As long as you size the end product correctly it should never hurt your animal.
Will it smell if the animal gets wet?
No, BioThane® does not smell.
How long will it last?
Under normal use, BioThane® will long outlast leather and nylon.
Will it still work in cold weather?
